Update on 2019/2020 Fundraiser for Norbertos Healthcare

If any of you have ever lost a family member or loved one, you know the process of settling an estate and wrapping up all the loose ends can be really tough, time consuming and emotionally challenging. When you add that with the language barrier, with a differing legal system and a lack of clear intentions put down in writing, well, it’s going to be a bit of time before we have any concrete answers on what’s to be done with the remainder of the legacy fund. We have put together a brief summary of the money raised, how it has been spent so far.

• Legal Fees [$2,333]

• Debt Clearance [$8,282]: for Estate - Auto and Equipment

• Bank Costs [$795]: Stripe, PayPal, GoFundMe, Conversion costs, Wire-transfer costs

• Terramaya Carrying Costs [$6,000]: 5 months at minimum $1000/month

• Elias & Rafael [$18,875]: costs associated with transferring property and real estate

• Remainder [$23,042]: seeds for the future

Sad News…

Dearest friends, with tremendous sadness I share this message from Cristiane, Norberto’s mother:

“Friends of fellow brothers, I come to inform you that unfortunately Norberto Jurasek (45) did not resist and died today at 01:30 in the morning. As soon as I know details of the funeral and burial I will contact you right now I'm in Lumiar towards Macae.” Cristiane Oliveira

Our deepest sympathy for Emily, Elias, Rafael, Cristiane, Joao and Norberto’s whole family in bloodline and love... May Norberto’s reunion with Baixinha give him freedom and Open Path’s.....

We will Plan an Official Open Path Memorial in the near future.   More details will be sent in the coming week or so.

Norberto is very often deeply touched by the messages of love, the songs, the letters and drawings you’ve been sending, and is very often moved to tears out of gratitude. He receives so much fulfillment from the ceremonies, the precious times spent with you all, the intimate connections, and from being with his family and dear ones. It is the longing to love more and be with us all more that is keeping him going. He now has very little energy available to write back, so if you write directly to him, please don’t necessarily expect a reply. You can write to me and I can pass on your messages and do my best to reply to each one. Please forgive me if I don’t manage!
