Today is Norberto’s 6th day without dialysis!

Today is Norberto’s 6th day without dialysis. Although his creatinine levels went up a bit again, from 5 to 5.8, it’s still looking good since all the other values are very good.

His stitches were removed and he continues to heal well from the spleen surgery.

This Tuesday he will receive his first round of the Rituximab and continue to get infusions every 2 weeks. While this is not Chemotherapy, many of the side effects are similar so this will be an intense treatment for him.

The hospital plans to discharge him after he starts his treatment and he will return for checks and continued treatment. He will be staying at a nice and quiet house near the beach hopefully for the next 4 months to continue to recover and receive treatment.

He is also receiving care from an old Chinese acupuncturist who came to treat him in the hospital. He said it helped a lot and his wish to continue to work with him as well as other supplementary alternative therapies.

Thanks to your donations the hospital bills and medication are paid for. The rent of the quiet beach house and care is covered and the bills on his land are being paid while Norberto is unable to work.

We will be posting more info about how your donations are being used at openpath.global.
